General

Mr. Marine’s growth strategy includes organic growth and growth through acquisitions in new and existing business lines in international ports. The aim is to complete 2-3 acquisitions yearly. For the integration of the newly acquired companies, Mr. Marine wants to hire an Integration Project Manager.

The Integration Project Manager will report to the COO and will work closely with the executive team consisting of the CEO, the COO, 2 Technical Directors, the Operations Director, the Key Accounts Director and the HR Business Partner. He or she will also cooperate closely with the IT Manager. For each newly acquired company, the Integration Project Manager will assist in making the integration project plan, setting up the integration team, monitoring and reporting on progress against the plan and managing risks. The Integration Project Manager is also responsible for the execution of part of the planned integration activities.

A hands-on, execution-oriented mentality, excellent project management and stakeholder management skills and teamwork are required to be successful in this position. Good business sense and affinity with processes and IT are also necessary.

Extensive travelling and staying abroad are required as the targeted acquisitions are located in major international hubs.

Job Description

  • Assist in planning and setting up the integration project
  • Organise a kick-off meeting so that all functional integration leaders understand their roles and responsibilities during the transition period
  • Assist with the launch of functional integration teams so they understand their charters and are organised for success
  • Assist in briefing the acquired management team and employees so that they understand the integration process and how it will impact them
  • Monitor and report progress against the integration project plan
  • Identify risks associated with integration activities and create/execute actions to reduce or eliminate these risks
  • Drive rapid executive decision making
  • Execute (part of) the integration activities
  • Escalate issues requiring senior-level input so they are resolved quickly and effectively
  • Manage the interdependencies between functions so activities are prioritised and sequenced correctly
  • Ensure exit criteria are met
  • Document any handoffs to business line leaders at the end of the transition period
  • Capture lessons learned and recommendations for future acquisitions

Job Requirements

Function Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in a consulting, software project management or junior management position
  • Tenacity, persuasiveness and flexibility to spar with management
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience working with global (virtual) teams
  • Experience with the fast-growing organisation(s) is a plus
  • Experience within a private-equity owned organisation is a plus
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, SAP is a plus
