General

Sales and Procurement Specialist is part of Mr. Marine Spares’ team. He/she successfully supports both the service team and direct customers on spares request which includes and is not limited to elevator spares, marine instruments and ballast water systems. A Sales and Procurement Specialist is required to process customers’ spares inquiries, quotations, and orders and ensure correct and timely delivery of spare parts within budget and always keep the customer informed of the progress.

Incumbent of this position reports to a Team Leader.

Job Description

The spare parts department at MR Marine is of critical importance for its success in the marine markets. Our customer base consists of ship owners and ship management companies situated across all continents.

As a Sales and Procurement Specialist, you will hold complete responsibility for processing RFQ’s, scrutinizing material requests, negotiating prices with vendors and customers, managing smart warehousing, and organizing transport and paperwork for swift delivery of spares to vessels.

You will be working from our Rotterdam office, and will follow various MR Academy trainings modules to ensure your fast development within the company. Individual study hours and on-site training are part of the job.

Job Requirements

 

Task description:

  • Create and submit RFQ, follow up and obtain on time and accurate quotes and proposals from approved vendors
  • Timely acknowledgement of customers’ inquiries and orders
  • Clear communication and follow-ups with and direct customers
  • Accountable for the delivery of spare parts within agreed delivery times and within budget
  • Timely creation and delivery of purchase orders to vendors
  • Frequent communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery of spares
  • Monitor and maintain a good level of stock
  • Prepare a weekly overview of all pending proposals, sales volume delayed shipments and update status

 

Requirements:

  • A first-level university degree in Engineering, preferably with a combination of a graduate degree in Supply Chain Management (preferred)
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in sales engineering / customer related
  • Previous experience in purchasing within the shipping industry is highly advantageous
  • Technical background or natural aptitude
  • Good understanding of business English (Dutch language skills not required although a second language is advantageous to this position)
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One is a plus

Note: EU passport or existing NL residence/working permit without time restrictions is needed as this position will be a hybrid working model at our Rotterdam offices.
