General

The Sales and Procurement Specialist is part of Mr. Marine Spares’ team. He/she successfully supports both the service team and direct customers on spares request which includes and is not limited to elevator spares, marine instruments and ballast water systems. A Sales and Procurement Specialist is required to process customers’ spare inquiries, quotations, and orders and ensure correct and timely delivery of spare parts within budget and always keep the customer informed of the progress.

The incumbent of this position reports to a Team Leader.

Job Description

The spare parts department at Mr. Marine is of critical importance for its success in the marine markets. Our customers are ship owners, and ship management companies, located on all continents.

As a Sales and Procurement Specialist, you will have full responsibility to process RFQs, scrutinize materials requests, negotiate prices with vendors and customers, smart warehousing, and organise transport and paperwork to have the spares delivered to a vessel as quickly as possible.

You will be working from our Rotterdam offices and will follow various Mr. Marine Academy training modules to ensure your fast development within the company. Individual study hours and on-site training are part of the job.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/master (marine) engineering degree
  • Shipping background in buying is a big advantage
  • Technical background or natural talent
  • Good understanding of business English (Dutch not needed)
  • Experience in international trading.
