General

The Warehouse Operator maintains and oversees the warehouse and distribution operations of the Group. It includes the logistical coordination of spares for our worldwide marine services. The tasks performed are in the field of order and transport management, control of goods receipt, management for incoming and outgoing and stock management. Optimal control in close cooperation with regular carriers, LSP (Logistic Service Providers), such as inland terminals, external warehouses and transporters is crucial. The position is entirely on location, working remotely is not possible. Reporting to the Team Leader Spares.

Job Description

  • Oversee warehousing activities
  • Receiving and processing incoming goods
  • Inventorizing stock items
  • Order picking and packaging goods with care to prevent damages during transport
  • Check outgoing shipments in terms of quantity, quality and correctness
  • Ensures transport documents are complete and meet the requirements of country regulation
  • Accurate administrative processing of warehouse activities such as entry and exit of stock
  • Strategic buying: regular analysis of what spares can offer a substantial competitive advantage for the group when kept in stock.
  • Ensure Just in Time spares parts stock levels in order to generate maximum turnover to the lowest possible cost
  • Managing and optimizing the various warehouses (Rotterdam, Shanghai and Singapore)
  • Ensuring exact records of stock levels (actual to ERP recorded levels)
  • Perform periodic counts of the stock
  • Optimize the layout of the warehouse; efficient and effective space utilization
  • Report statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)

Job Requirements

Function requirements

  • MBO-4 education level with a min of 2 years of work experience in a Logistics function or;
  • completed HBO course in the direction of Logistics in lieu of work experience
  • Fluent in English in writing and verbally, and a relevant second language, preferably Dutch
  • Knowledge of and experience with logistics and administrative processes
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, SAP (B1) is a plus
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, WMS is a plus
  • Experience with the pallet truck
  • Willingness for physical work such as bending, kneeling and carrying loads
  • Experience working with global (virtual) teams
