General

As a workshop calibration technician, you will execute inspection, calibration, repair, and certification of pressure, temperature, and flow– instruments and portable gas detection and other marine instruments and controls in our workshop in Rotterdam.

The function encompasses more than calibrating and certifying marine instruments. The workshop is your domain. It is your responsibility to manage workshop tools and equipment, marine spare parts and all required OEM/makers’ documentation and software.

You will work closely with the Project Managers and are able to run the full calibration and certification procedure. You have knowledge of all relevant calibration procedures for pressure, temperature, and portable gas detection instruments, and are keen to remain updated with the latest products and regulation information. You have an eagerness for detail and accuracy and you are only satisfied with the best result. Your passion is to deliver the optimal solution to the customers, taking in mind that your work ensures the safety of personnel, equipment and the environment.

The Workshop Calibration Technician will be reporting to the Technical Manager for Marine Instruments and Controls.

Job Description

  • Prepare inspection, calibration, repair, and certification work of marine equipment in the workshop in close consultation with the Project Manager
  • Execute inspection, calibration, repair, and certification work of marine equipment in the workshop
  • Make marine instruments ready for transportation to the customers
  • Prepare certificates after the workshop work has been done and complete project administration and documentation
  • Instruct and advise the Project Manager to enable smooth quotation and project management
  • Consultation with the Project Manager

 

The systems that you work on every day include:

  • Portable gas detection
  • Pressure instruments (such as gauges, calibrators of transmitters)
  • Temperature instruments (such as gauges, calibrators of transmitters)
  • UTIs (portable electronic level gauge)
  • Other measurement and control instruments
  • Test and calibration equipment

Job Requirements

  • MBO Level 4 (EQF 4) Technician in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / with a minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar function with similar products and systems in the maritime industry
  • A good understanding of business and technical English (B2/C1) and preferably Dutch
  • Driving license
  • Intermediate computer and software skills
