The RTE SMART 50M oil in water monitor is a versatile and sophisticated device designed for various marine and industrial applications. It utilizes a nephelometry-based detection technique and advanced algorithms to accurately identify oil and suspended solids in a sample. One of its notable features is the design of its measuring cell, which enables monitoring of high-temperature and high-pressure samples across different oil concentration ranges. With auto-clean and auto-zeroing functionality, the monitor requires minimal maintenance and ensures that the measuring cell remains free from fouling.
The Smart 50M provides the oil concentration value to a distributed control system (DCS) or programmable logic controller (PLC) through a 4-20mA output. It also offers additional process variables using the Modbus digital communications protocol over RS485. The standard data available includes oil concentration, sample pressure, sample temperature, solids content, fault status, alarm, and run states. Furthermore, by incorporating the Auxiliary Inputs Assembly, the Smart 50M can also monitor conductivity, pH, and dissolved oxygen. It can be built as an “Exd” type system in a protective enclosure for hazardous environments. Moreover, the RTE SMART 50M is DNV-GL Type Approved for marine use. This makes it an excellent solution for complying with DNV-GL requirements on flagged vessels, particularly the monitoring of boiler condensate for oil ingress. Its DNV-GL approval ensures its reliability and suitability for marine environments.
