The SMART S-MS MED is an MED approved and SIL2 certified fixed gas detector, designed to meet with the harshest conditions of marine environments. Made for the marine industry, the SMART S-MS MED is purposely designed and certified to meet with the requirements and harsh environments of the marine industry. The system has been certified by the Lloyd’s Register in accordance with MED/3.54 Regulation and is SIL2 hardware and SIL3 software; with a redundant system also the hardware is SIL3. The SMART S-MS MED has a size of H145 x W187 x D108 mm (5.7 x 7.4 x 4.25ins) and weighs 1.5kg.
Its enclosure material is Aluminium pressure die-casting with epoxy paint chromating and chemically resistant, providing an Ingress Protection of IP65. It has 2 or 3 x 3/4” NPT connections and operates on 12-24 Vdc power. The SMART S-MS MED features an analogue 4-20 mA output, serial RS485 output, and optional 3 relays output. Its operating temperature ranges from -40 / +60°C, with a humidity range of 20 / 90% RH @40°C. The response time is t90 < 60 s and t50 < 20 s. It is tested in accordance with the EN 60079-29-1 standard and holds important certifications such as MED, EMC, ATEX, and IECEx.
