Authorized Person Definition

An authorized person is an individual who has been given permission by the owner of an elevator to perform a specific task. This person must be able to demonstrate their competence in the task they undertake, such as conducting periodic examinations of elevators or insurance inspections. In order to ensure that elevators are safe for use and are in compliance with regulations, it is important to have authorized and competent personnel performing maintenance and inspections on elevators.

An authorized person is also a Maintenance Organization Company where competent maintenance personnel carry out maintenance operations on behalf of the elevator’s owner. These companies employ individuals who are knowledgeable in the maintenance and repair of elevators and are able to ensure that the elevator is in good working condition and in compliance with regulations. It is important to note that it is the elevator owner, not the maker, who is responsible for authorizing an elevator maintenance company. This means that as the owner of an elevator, it is your responsibility to ensure that the company you choose to maintain your elevator is competent and authorized to perform the necessary tasks.

Regulations

The new regulations for elevator maintenance can be complex and it is essential for elevator owners to understand and comply with them. These regulations are in place to ensure the safety of elevator users and to prevent accidents and injuries. The regulations may vary depending on the location and type of elevator, but generally, they include requirements for regular inspections and maintenance, as well as for the training and qualifications of maintenance personnel.

Marine Elevator Inspections

One of the most important aspects of elevator maintenance is regular inspections. These inspections are typically performed on a yearly basis and are designed to ensure that the elevator is in good working condition and that all safety features are functioning properly. The inspections are usually conducted by authorized personnel who are trained and qualified to perform the task. During the inspection, the authorized person will check the elevator’s mechanical and electrical components, as well as the elevator’s safety features. They will also check the elevator’s compliance with regulations and will provide a report on the condition of the elevator and any necessary repairs or maintenance.

Marine Elevator Maintenance

Another important aspect of elevator maintenance is regular maintenance. This includes tasks such as lubricating the elevator’s mechanical components, replacing worn or damaged parts, and performing any necessary repairs. Maintenance ensures that the elevator is in good working condition and that safety features are functioning properly. The maintenance should be performed by competent and authorized personnel who are trained and qualified to perform the task.

Marine Elevator Records

In addition to regular inspections and maintenance, elevator owners are also required to maintain records of the elevator’s maintenance and repairs. These records are important for ensuring compliance with regulations and for providing a history of the elevator’s maintenance and repairs. Records should include information such as the date of the inspection or maintenance, the name of the person who performed the task, and a description of any repairs or maintenance that were performed.
