Honeywell Tanksystem’s HERMetic UTImeter Gtex for Closed Operation

The HERMetic UTImeter Gtex by Honeywell Tanksystem is a portable and gas-tight liquid level gauge designed to ensure safety and efficiency in various applications, particularly in the marine industry. This advanced gauge enables closed gauging of hydrocarbons and chemicals, offering increased accuracy and stability while reducing maintenance costs. One of the key advantages of the HERMetic UTImeter Gtex is its ability to perform three crucial measurements in a single operation. It allows for ullage level measurement, enabling the static verification of the liquid level in a tank. Additionally, it provides temperature verification, ensuring continuous and precise temperature readings of the liquid. Lastly, it detects oil-water interfaces, facilitating the identification of these crucial boundaries.

The device features a sensor that is calibrated at the factory, eliminating the need for subsequent calibrations. The temperature probe utilizes an RTD element, storing its characteristics within the sensor. As a result, replacing a sensor or tape does not require a new calibration. This seamless functionality ensures convenience and efficiency for users. Moreover, the HERMetic UTImeter Gtex complies with various regulations and standards applicable to the marine industry, including IMO (Solas 74, MARPOL 73/78), ISO (4512, 3170, 4268), API (MPMS Chap 3.1A, MPMS Chap 7, MPMS Chap 8.1, MPMS Chap 17.11), IP (PMM Part III-1, PMM Part IV), and EC Directives (89/336/EEC, 94/9/EC, 96/98/EC). It has also obtained approvals from national authorities such as USCG, MSA, and GOST-R, as well as major classification societies and standards organizations like ATEX, IECEx, Factory Mutual, NEPSI, and GOST.

In the latest update, all HERMetic UTImeters now come equipped with the advanced “ULTRA” sensor designed for both low and high viscous liquids. The ULTRA sensing probe comprises a stainless steel tube that is capped by a PEEK head. Within the sensing probe, there are three essential components: an ultrasonic liquid level sensor, a temperature sensor, and a conductivity electrode. The ULTRA sensing probe’s sensitivity for measuring ullage (empty space) and interface (boundary between liquids) does not require any manual adjustment. It is carefully calibrated at the factory to ensure accurate readings, eliminating the need for subsequent calibrations. This calibration process guarantees consistent and reliable measurements.

The temperature sensor within the ULTRA sensing probe utilizes a Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) element. The RTD element’s unique characteristics are stored within the sensor itself. This means that when the sensor is in use, it transmits precise temperature values to the electronic box and display, enabling accurate temperature readings. With the integration of the ULTRA sensor, HERMetic UTImeters provide enhanced performance and reliability in measuring liquid levels, temperature, and conductivity. Users can trust the accuracy and consistency of the measurements, while the calibration-free design ensures ease of use and convenience.

The ULTRA sensing probe is a highly versatile and reliable tool that offers numerous benefits for a wide range of applications. One of its key advantages is the ability to provide 100% repeatability of measurements, ensuring consistent and accurate data. This reliability makes it an ideal choice for industries that require precise and consistent readings. Additionally, the ULTRA sensing probe allows for continuous temperature reading, providing real-time temperature information for effective monitoring. This feature enhances the accuracy and reliability of the measurements, enabling users to make informed decisions based on up-to-date data.

The probe is designed to deliver high accuracy and stability, ensuring trustworthy results even in challenging environments. Whether it’s measuring in harsh industrial settings or corrosive liquid environments, the ULTRA sensing probe maintains its accuracy and stability, providing reliable measurements that users can depend on. For applications involving corrosive liquids, the Chem version of the ULTRA sensing probe offers chemically resistant properties. This ensures durability and longevity, even when exposed to aggressive substances, making it a suitable choice for demanding environments.

The ULTRA sensing probe is designed with user convenience in mind. It features easy access for battery exchange, allowing for uninterrupted operation and minimizing downtime. Moreover, when it comes to sensor replacement, there is no need for recalibration, simplifying maintenance procedures and reducing overall costs. The probe’s lightweight construction makes it easy to handle and carry around, enabling users to perform measurements with ease. Furthermore, it is equipped with interchangeable adapters, allowing for secure connections to different vapor control valves. This versatility ensures compatibility with various systems and enhances the probe’s functionality and flexibility.
