The QMI Engine Oil Mist Detection System (OMDS) represents a cutting-edge solution for safeguarding both equipment and personnel across a range of applications. Originally designed for marine engines, this system has since found its way into various land-based scenarios, offering precision and reliability in monitoring engine health. At the heart of the QMI system lies the Multiplex Monitor, a sophisticated device capable of measuring a multitude of factors across 12 channels. This monitor not only provides early warning alarms but, when equipped with data logging capabilities, becomes an invaluable tool for comprehensive engine health monitoring.

Complementing the monitor are the Engine Detectors, strategically placed in confined spaces such as an engine’s crankcase. Each space to be monitored is allocated a detector, which extracts oil mist via a common suction rail, aided by an independent fan. This arrangement ensures accurate and real-time measurements. Another crucial element in the system is the Junction Box, responsible for connecting up to 12 detectors to the central monitor, enabling seamless data collection and analysis. Furthermore, the system employs a fan to efficiently draw oil mist from the monitored spaces to the detectors, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the system.
