Rivertrace Engineering (RTE) SMART ODME

The RTE Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment (Smart ODME) is a comprehensive system designed to monitor, record, and control ballast discharge for crude oil, product, and chemical tankers, including ICE class vessels. Unlike older systems, the Smart ODME is modular in construction, eliminating the need for pump/motor bulkhead penetration. It incorporates all the necessary components to comply with MEPC 108(49) and the latest MEPC 240(65) regulations for Bio Fuels, effective from January 1, 2016. The Smart ODME offers a ‘simulation mode’ for demonstrating system functionality to PSC surveyors and is specifically designed for easy retrofitting, operation, installation, and maintenance. It supports various applications, including dirty ballast water discharge, clean ballast water discharge, and is approved for use with Bio Fuels.

When it comes to measurement, the Smart ODME accommodates different oil types as per MEPC 108(49) and MEPC 240(65) requirements. It features automatic clean water calibration, offers an oil measurement range of 0-1000 ppm for all types, and provides an accuracy level that complies with MEPC 108(49) standards for oil and solids. Data storage and retrieval can be done via the system’s LCD display or by downloading data to a PC using Hyperterminal. The Smart ODME operates on a supply voltage of 115/230V AC, with a switchable frequency of 50-60Hz. It includes a Zener Barrier/Computer Module with the same supply voltage specifications and a motor that operates on 380-440V AC, 50-60Hz, 3 phase, and 250W. The system’s power consumption is less than 50 VA in single-phase operation.
