Totem Plus BNWAS

The Totem Plus BNWAS is an advanced Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System that ensures the monitoring of bridge activity and triggers alarms if the Officer On Watch (OOW) becomes incapacitated or unable to perform their duties.  The Totem BNWAS offers a range of impressive features, including an optional upgrade to a full Bridge Alert Management System (BAMS). It provides flexible configuration options for both internal and external signal connections, with up to 120 total digital inputs/outputs. The installation process is simplified by utilizing a single communication bus (Daisy Chain) for connecting all cabin units, minimizing cable length requirements.

Equipped with a 9.7″ color touch screen, the Totem BNWAS offers clear time counter display, system status presentation, and easy system configuration. The reset functionality can be triggered through various options, such as reset buttons, motion sensors combining infrared and microwave technology, or activity on other navigational equipment. Additionally, the system features an Officer Cabin Alarm unit with Backup Duty and Bridge Alarm indication, allowing for local silence. The Totem BNWAS provides enhanced security with password-protected access and a “Burglar Alarm” Security mode for unattended and locked bridges while in port. It supports timer setups for various stages, including dormant periods, transfer to backup duty officer, and activation of the general alarm. NMEA outputs are available for transferring BNWAS status to a VDR (Voyage Data Recorder) and for BAMS communication. Optional features include pager system connection for expanded alert capabilities.
