Totem BAMS – Bridge Alert Management System

The Totem Bridge Alert Management System (BAMS) is a comprehensive solution that consolidates and presents bridge alarms and warnings on a central panel, allowing for easy identification of their sources and quick silencing of audible alarms. This system, type approved by DNVGL and compliant with the latest IMO resolutions, including MSC.302(87), MSC.252(83), and IEC 61924 ed.2, provides a reliable alert management solution for all types of vessels. BAMS offers three operational modes: Sea mode (default), Silent mode (disabling audible alarms), and Anchor mode (alerting for position drift, among others). It can also be integrated with the Totem Navigation Bridge Watch Alarm System (Totem BNWAS) for enhanced functionality.

The system’s key features include the display of alarms from various bridge sources on one or two touch screens, centralized locations for silencing and acknowledging alarms, and a one-year log of system events. The log files can be conveniently downloaded to external media via USB. BAMS is capable of reporting alarm information and enabling acknowledgment if relevant details are available. In terms of technical specifications, BAMS includes one 10″ touch screen (with the option for two), a microcontroller-based Data Acquisition Unit, and support for up to 24 serial inputs and 120 digital I/O. Its electrical specifications involve an operating voltage of 100/240VAC 50/60Hz and a secondary operating voltage of 24VDC. The system is designed to operate within a temperature range of -15 to +55 ˚C, with a maximum humidity tolerance of 93% without condensation.
